Acrovision installs 2D DataMatrix Validation System

The International Federation of Animal Health (IFAH) has recently laid down guidelines for a unique worldwide identification principle for Animal Health products production batches.

The Datamatrix 2D code is to be printed on all secondary packaging of the registered units of sale.

The end user, who is a leading Multinational manufacturer of Animal Healthcare products, wanted to validate the quality of print of the Datamatrix code at time of packaging to ensure the highest level of readability throughout the supply chain.

Acrovision proposed and installed a complete Datamatrix 2D Barcode Quality Control System using the Microscan Quadrus-Mini reader and associated “Validator” Controller. The system was installed on the labelling system providing 100% quality validation of product.

The Validator system provides all relevant AIM recommended Quality criteria to the generally recognised ISO 16022 such as Symbol Contrast, Print Growth, Axial Non-Conformity, Unused Error Correction

A PDF Report can then be generated to show and log the results.

A traffic light system also provides user indication of Good Read, No Read or Failed Quality. Also a trigger can be incorporated to control the conveyor system.
